The San Diego Chapter of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) offers scholarships to community college, undergraduate, and graduate women in San Diego County who are in pursuit of a degree in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Each recipient will receive a $1000 scholarship award and will be honored at the 2009 Women in Science and Technology (WIST) conference on May 9th. Congratulations to our 2009 Scholarship Winners! The AWIS Career Development AwardThe San Diego Chapter of AWIS is pleased to sponsor the career development award. These $1000 awards are designed to assist AWIS members who need additional training or coursework to help them successfully transition into a new field within the science and technology workplace. These awards are intended for current AWIS San Diego chapter members who are beginning or transitioning within their careers or are re-entering the work force. Gross yearly salary cannot exceed $60,000. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Full time students are not eligible. Award money can be used for any aspect of continuing education: courses or training seminars and can be applied toward tuition, registration fees or books. Applications are due Friday September 18, 2009.
